A large improvising ensemble of around 20 musicians from diverse artistic backgrounds, which has built an international reputation since its first project in 2002 and hosts an annual festival in Glasgow. I am a long-serving member and board member, playing piano and electronics, and have written for the orchestra, including the Concerto for Virtualities and Orchestra and Monk at the Border. I perform across the full bill of GIOfest XVIII and help organise it. I also curate VIR, the orchestra’s female and non-binary wing.
